“You are imperfect, you are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging.”
-Brene Brown
For many of those who come into my office, they start with a question: why can’t we talk about anything without arguing? Where has our passion gone? Why is sex so hard when it used to be so easy? Why did my partner have an affair? How do I talk to my partner about wanting an open relationship? Why are we stuck in the same patterns over and over again?
While these questions can feel big and scary, to me it signifies that this relationship is important to you and that you are wanting change and growth. We are wounded in relationship but we can also find immense healing in relationship. Whether you are coming with a person you are in relationship with or on your own, we will tackle these big questions together in order to find healing, change, and more satisfaction. I also firmly believe that no topic is off-limits, so whether it’s about sex, death, religion, money, or addiction, we will tackle it head on.
I graduated with my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver in 2018. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and completed additional training to become a Licensed Addiction Counselor. I am also a nationally Certified Sex Therapist (CST) through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
I am currently working towards certification in Imago Couple’s Therapy and have also completed Level 1 and 2 of Gottman Couple’s Therapy. I also have completed over two years of training in sex therapy and can help couples work through sexual health issues such as erectile dysfunction, vaginismus, desire discrepancy, sex through life changes (aging, disability, medical diagnoses), and others. You can learn more about my approaches toward addiction, sex therapy, and relationship/couple’s therapy on my blog. I am LGBTQIA+, kink, open/swinging, and polyamory affirming.
I believe that you as a human are uniquely individual. I firmly believe we are more than ‘just’ our trauma, ‘just’ our labels, or ‘just’ the worst thing we have ever done. I believe no subject should be “off-topic” and embrace you wherever you are in your journey. I am happy you are taking this first step and I can’t wait to meet you.
